Business Meeting
Meeting for Worship with a Concern for Business is held on the second Sunday of the month after worship.
Committees bring their concerns and proposals for consideration by the group. Decisions are made by seeking a “sense of the meeting." No votes are taken. If there is not general agreement on a particular issue, the matter is held over until there is a resolution that is acceptable to the entire group. In certain circumstances, a member who strongly disagrees with a decision of the Meeting may ask to “stand aside” because they recognize the sense of the meeting and do not wish to oppose it.
Our Meeting has undertaken an exploration of our purpose and resources. In recent months in Meeting for Business, non-essential business has been deferred so that we may begin the task of addressing the larger questions posed by our changing planet: Who are we called to be? How might we help midwife the transitions that are coming?
It is critical that we bring the whole spectrum of our voices to these questions. Please attend and encourage other Friends to attend.
All participants and members are invited to attend and take part in the Business Meeting.
